Baby is really interacting now. Baby loves playing games like peek-a-boo and patty cake. Laughing and singing and ‘talking’ up a storm. Having a blast watching the world unfold around them.
Your baby can wave bye bye and maybe even tries to blow a kiss. Try to have them mimic simple sounds like ma-ma and da-da. Talk about colors, shapes, animals and their sounds.
By 8 months a baby’s gut has closed and ready to start tasting foods. Start with soft textures and simple flavors - banana, avocado and sweet potato are good. If baby has any trouble with constipation, skip the banana and sweet potato. Change them for tiny bits of apple or papaya and Happi Tummi to calm their discomfort.
Remember ‘food before one is just for fun’ so don’t expect her diet to rely on these foods. Instead keep it fun trying new textures and flavors. Only introduce one new food at a time so you can watch for any allergies or sensitivities.
