Congratulations on making it through the first year! We are sure looking back a year it seems like it was just yesterday that your beautiful baby was just born. Love every moment!
Babies like to show how grown up they are right before their 1st birthday. Baby will show off by scooting upstairs, climbing to reach what they want, and imitating their big sister or brother.
So much is changing now. If your baby suffered reflux, it’ll go away all on its own this month, no medicines or rice cereal necessary. The baby's core is strong and their movements are now controlled. Baby can play simple games like rolling the ball back and forth to their siblings or even a modified version of hide and seek. Now baby will pay attention to screens and you’ll need to keep your phone far away.
This is a time when they still put non food objects into their mouth, so the house needs to be tidy. Baby can get into anything now. May be time to take another look at your house and make sure there’s nothing around that could hurt them.
Baby should be eating small bites of everything you eat, well the healthy stuff at least. Babies main source of nutrition is still milk and if still breastfeeding, not much water is needed yet. Give them the sippy cup with a soft bottle nipple and let baby drink, but don’t fret if they don't drink much. Nursing is still more important than feeding at this age.
